Just wanted to check in with the people in central Canada (Ontario, Québec) and eastern United States of America that got hit by yesterday’s ice storm.

Don’t do anything that could put your life at risk, in particular around downed power lines. They could still be powered, seeping current into the ground. It will take days before power is restored. Just in Québec, 1 out of 4 customers don’t have electricity (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/quebec-ice-storm-hydro-quebec-1.6803351)

I’m lucky that I have electric service, but my neighbours do not. And because of this, I no longer have Internet service at home, and rely on very slow 4G service to post this.

Stay safe people. Roads are going to be dangerous, in particular because traffic lights are out; do your 4-way stop, that’s the law of the off-light (want that to stick in your memories).
