I created a slide show on my iPad but it plays too fast -- is there any way to slow it down?

I don't see any control for the speed or amount of time each photo is displayed -- and the transition is also very fast -- the dissolve I chose is instantaneous. Surely that is not what Apple intended it to look like? Also, the slide show was assembled by the iPad in a different order than I selected the photos or their date when they were taken, although some were taken on my iPhone and some on my camera. It put the iPhone photos in the middle between two groups of camera photos. How can I move them to where they should be in chronological order?
