How to transfer pictures in Photos app to iPhone?

I have some pictures saved in the Photos app for OS X in my mac, I want to use this app to transfer photos to my iPhone directly.
So far, I can only import photos from iPhone to Photos app, but I can't seem to find a way to transfer photos from mac to iPhone.

Enable iCloud Photo Library, and then those photos will sync to your iPhone. You can also use the AirDrop function.
