I suppose it depends how much you care for your privacy. I deleted my facebook account some years ago.

It's not the microphone in Facebook Messenger as much as it's Location. You can revoke access to the mic in Settings > Privacy. You can disable location in Settings and also in the Facebook settings, along with location history. Also, the less personal info you add to the Facebook "about", the better. They prod us to add more info. This is not for our benefit, it's for advertising. We'll see ads anyway. The information used just tailors ads to our info.
