How to attach iphone to a lanyard/strap?

Being that this thread is from 2009 and that there is no place to connect a lanyard on the iPhone, and who in their right mind would want to connect a lanyard to the charging port? can we not close this thread?

Actually...I used the iHangy on my 4S and really liked it. It connects to the charging port.
