How do I get my original iPhone contacts to sync to my new Exchange account?

iMore Question

I have an iPhone that had contacts on it prior to adding an Exchange account. After I added the Exchange account, I assumed that all of the old iPhone contacts would transfer to Exchange but that didn't happen. However, if I add any new contacts to my phone or to my Exchange account, those do sync with each other.

My Question is, how do I get my original iPhone contacts to sync to my new Exchange account?

Re: Syncing old contacts to Exchange

Initiate the native Contacts app and then select "Groups" in the upper left corner. After that, make sure that a check mark is listed by every entry therein.

They were all selected.

Then they should all be present on the device. I have 4 email accounts configured on my iPhone, but I only use the contacts from my iCloud account to be used by all of the them. If something similar is not practical for you, and if your contacts are not associated with an email account, you may have to use your wireless provider's backup service and then export your contacts to your exchange account, if possible.
