I have my MP3's stored in a hierarchical structure on my hard drive, with the top level directory being the Genre's, with sub-directories for artists, albums and finally songs in the album directories. These are ripped from my CD's using EAC and LAME. I generally use MP#Tag for tag editing.
Is there a way to maintain that hierarchical structure inside iTunes and iPhones? Or is it just a flat-file listing inside these devices, and I'll have to use playlists or the tag information to sort by albums, artists etc?
Will I be able to sort my playback by Genre and then then subsort by artist and albums on the devices?
