Purchasing a turntable would be solely nostalgic for me and not practical. I would rarely use it and I definitely wouldn’t pay the price stores are charging for records these days.
I'm an audiophile from way back - sold high-end audio equipment for many years. I used to A/B demo the same songs on Album and CD for teens who didn't believe me in how much better albums sounded (the are pure vs digitized versions after all). I loved seeing those kids eyes bug out of their heads when they heard the difference. Truly cool to see them understand why people invest in good needles and speakers.
