Can you judge a book by its excerpt? If so, then there seems to be little hope for the upcoming Haunted Empire: Apple after Steve Jobs, which is poetic given the excerpt seems to suggest there's little hope for Apple. I've often wondered if people reporting on Apple ? getting sourced information and writing it up ? automatically came to understand Apple as part of the process. This excerpt leads me to believe that's not necessarily the case. Reporting in and of itself seems to bring no special understanding. And that makes me sad. I hate rewarding negative attention seeking with attention, but in this case I'm making an exception. From Fortune:
