I have been trying to update my “résumé updated 2” on Pages for a few weeks now but I can’t seem to do it on my desktop or anywhere. Are you able to edit in Files?IMG_5430.JPG

You can tap and hold, and choose the Move action in the popup menu.
Alternatively, the “Show Enclosing Folder” will point the app to the folder that has the file.

The Files app can‘t modify Pages/Microsoft Word documents, but it can force them to open in the appropriate app.

I want to edit the actual résumé in the blue expand area but it won’t let me. it still won’t let me do the show enclosing folder. do you think it will let copy on my desktop.

I have no idea what "the blue expand area" means…

It should allow you to copy.
Edit: I have finished my second sentence.

@Chris Cook5 I just played around with Pages and was able to edit a page I created on my PC at work, and then edit it on my iPhone. I had to click the "edit" button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Hope this helps!

If the “Pages” app is installed on your iPhone and you open your résumé from within either “Pages” or the “Files” app then you should see the “Edit” option at the top.

Sorry to give everyone trouble. Is it because the “résumé updated 2” is in PDF on my desktop and it’s not in my pages on my iPhone but it is in my Files app

If it’s on your desktop it should be in the files app,
Open it with pages or better yet make a copy that you can edit, in case you delete it again.

what other app do you recommend
can I save it to pages after
The only apps that I know that can edit PDF documents are:
  • Adobe Acrobat (not to be confused with Adobe Reader)
  • Microsoft Office Word for Windows
None of them can save to Pages natively.

In theory, you should be able to use Select All, and then paste into Pages. It might lose some of the formatting, but contents should follow.

You can annotate it in the files app, but to edit you need the original non pdf file.

Your only options without the the original non pdf file, is copying the text into a new pages document or using another app or web service to convert the pdf back to a pages or doc format.
