I just went through this with my son. . . . Needless to say, I had to purchase him a new iPhone.

You can try putting the phone in a bag of rice, but it didn't work for me.

Replace it. Liquids and electricity do not mix well. Once an electronic device gets wet with power applied only two things can happen. It fails immediately or it fails later. Save yourself the grief and just replace it now.
