** Does Apple think people should upgrade their iPads like they upgrade iPhones?

Does Apple think people should upgrade their iPads like they upgrade iPhones every 1- 2 years? I always thought this was a hard call because of the expense. What do you think?

They just develop a better product every year. The iPads have been on about a 3 year software retirement cycle, so I would say Apple recommends upgrading every 2-3 years on iPads, 1-2 on iPhones.

Just because Apple releases a new iPad every year doesn’t mean that you have to upgrade every year.
