Its more about Apple taking it away and saying get used to it. Some will, some won't and a lot do care. Its nice to see the %, why should I have to swipe to get it. I feel they did it so users wouldn't look at the battery percentage since apple always offers the smallest batteries in their phones, yes the OS can be more efficient, but the quality of their batteries is in question.
