This is a bad idea, in my opinion, no matter how well-intentioned it may be.

The fact that they’re going to scan on device, using the processing power of the phone I purchased does not fly with me. Intentions are well understood. But I’m switching iCloud Photos off and going down to the free tier of iCloud storage since Photos is a majority of my storage.

I just can’t imagine what other hashes could be added to this by any government in the world. Most especially the U.S. Government.

I fully support fighting casm but I’m not cool with my phone having a back door. Might as well get a Google pixel and switch it up this year.
