Actually, you can use Airpod Max with an iPod classic. You need need a special (and expensive) cable. I know. I bought one of those refurbished / modernized iPod Classic 5th generations from Etsy and use it with my Airpod Max headphones regularly.

I'm very fond of the device, and I have been surprised at how many people see it and remark that they had one of those back in the day.

I load music on it via the WALTR PRO app from Softorino (which I also use for my phone).
