Can I use a downloaded notification tone in Whatsapp?

Hi guys. Can I use a downloaded notification tone in whatsapp. Looks like I can only use my own tones for sms etc. Would really like to use my own tones for whatsapp? Thanks

I'm not aware if the app allows customization of notification sounds.

Well that just sucks. I downloaded all these cool notification sounds and now I cant use them. Thanks guys
