Can I safely recharge my iPod nano using the USB outlet on my iPad mains charger?

Not sure whether the output current of the iPad charger would be compatible.

More than likely yes, but if you're unsure or are uncomfortable with it, simply go to the nearest Apple Store or a retailer that sells authorized Apple charging cables and buy one suitable for the iPod Nano.

I've done that with mine in the past and didn't have any issues. It actually may recharge quicker that way, too.
