Can I retrieve lost photo taken by my iphone 5

I took a photo last night. I showed it to a friend -using the camera setting.
It had disappeared - is there a way to retrieve it?

If you have iCloud set up then it may be in your photo stream.

Look under your album app. On the bottom u will see Albums, Photostream and places. Look under Photostream(middle tab) to see if its there.
