BBM for iOS

[iMore Question]

I'm using an iPad Mini (wifi + 3G) and am not receiving any sound notifications for BBM. The only time a sound notification comes is when I'm on the BBM app chatting to one contact and another contact sends a message.
I've tried reinstalling the app, but it was in vain.
It's annoying me! Help!

Luckily I've got the notification working on my iPhone 5, but not on my wife's. Haven't figured out the problem yet. Hopefully will see a solution here.
