Crash Detection “technology still requires work” will remain the case likely for a long time. There’s numerous variables within varying crashes (not just automobile). Then couple that with Apple can’t have it trigger it too easily (too many false 911 calls).
The sound of an airbag deploying seems like it would be a semi-universal noise, one that the iPhone or watch could be sensitive too.
