Additional note, reportedly Steve Jobs mentioned wanting to build an electric car. Based on that as well as every corporate R&D trying to patent everything they tinker with (it avoids potential patent trolling as well as increases IP value), numerous patents for Apple on cars as well as a number of other things likely exist.
