Apple account password pop up message

My 14 PM has asked me to type in my Apple account password about 10-20 times today. It just randomly pops up on the screen.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Your Apple password? I get it occasionally for my Gmail account when I change my password via the web, but never my Apple password.

Just as a precaution, do you have 2FA set up on your Apple account? And might now be a bad idea to go ahead and change your Apple password.

I have seen it happen on my iPhone 11 Pro.

Typically, after a legacy device (e.g. MacBook Pro with macOS Monterey) logs into my account.

This said, it has not happened in 4 months, so take it for what it’s worth.

This happened to me a few months ago, and I eventually got a prompt to change my AppleID password. Once I did that, the popups stopped. So the advice to change your AppleID password is good advice and valid!!!

This was happening to me on my 14 Pro Max. Tried everything. Eventually I enabled 2FA. That stopped it. But didn't really want 2FA.

I think that’s the way Apple “forces” you to enable 2FA.
