i've seen on the web that sales go live at 5pm, i would imagine eastern time?

It's my understanding that sales go live at 5pm local time (wherever you are, plan on 5pm). It's hard to say what kind of line there will be. I'd plan on some waiting, but I would also plan on there being plenty of stock on hand, at least at the Apple stores. That seems to be their M.O. -- an abundance of stock for the launch day

I was talking to a representative at my cell phone company today and they said more than likely people will be camping out in front of stores. Best get there early or be ready to put your name on a waiting list.

in speculative thinking, im not sure how many people really have interest for a 3g model with the additional $130 fee for the 3g radio... so i'm thinking that there will be less of a demand for the 3g model, just as the higher selling iphone is the 16gb, rather than the 32gb..

I don't think that April 30th will be anything like April 3rd. Kindof like why 1984 wasn't anything like 1984.
