I have recently recieved a pre configured ipad mini with a mdm profile.
It has an app which I'am required to work through adn removing that profile will remove that app.
    Is there a workaround.

If you attempt to remove the MDM app your device will be useless for work.
I am using Good on my SGS5 and work email and calendar are compartmentalised, along with the secure browser. We've got a white list of apps we can use.
The device is meant for work and not personal use and that was explained when we were issued our respective devices.
Talk to your IT. There may be a provision that allows certain personal use for your mini iPad.

I am *assuming* the iPad belongs to a company/business and the MDM can keep tabs on certain aspects of the device. You need to get with the company/business who owns the device and ask one of their IT people to assist you in this regard.
