I had it on iOS 4.3.5 today before I updated my iPod Touch 4g to iOS 5 this afternoon. There is no longer a toggle for it on my iPod. In the Usage menu, all it shows is storage space on the HDD. There is no option to show the battery % now on my iPod Touch 4G in the Usage menu.

Does anyone know where I can enable the Battery % display in iOS 5?

I just installed the Public Release of iOS 5 and it's giving me the same error as you guys. In fact, it gives the error the second I hit the button - as if it's not even trying to ping the Apple Update Server. Everything else works though.
