All you need to do is restore your phone to it's factory setting with iTunes and nobody at AT&T nor Apple will know it was jailbroken.

Because BBM doesn't require you to pay for an unlimited text plan. It's an instant message app, it uses your data plan, gives you instant feedback as to the status of the recipient and comes installed from the factory, so every BB user has it. If Jobs had invented it and put it on the iPhone...

My battery has been good. At least the same as it was pre-jailbreak.

Do a clean restore and jailbreak again. Then launch the Loader icon to install Cydia. It may be a blank or white icon. If so, just reboot the phone again. But I would always do a clean restore.
