Yeah if you have a spare phone I would just reload iOS and restore from your backup to get the photos. I'm old school so I would transfer the photos to the new phone from the spare using either AirDrop or transfer from a laptop.

Try a reboot like suggest for the battery drain. Also if it's still draining try putting it into DFU mode and reload iOS setup as new. Use it for half a day and see if it works or if you still have battery drain issues. If there is no issue then something in your backup is causing the issue. You...
