I have a 2013 MacBook with USB A ports and I am looking to purchase a newer MacBook that only offers USB-C/Thunderbolt.

All of my music making hardware uses USB-A (APC mini, Korg drum machine, Scarlett interface, yada yada yada)

My dilemma is how I can continue using all of them together at the same time.

If, for example, I purchase a USB-C/Thunderbolt to USB-A adapter. AND THEN plug in a USB A hub that expands to 7 USB-A ports, will all of my devices be recognized?

Please help if you have been through this process or have good knowledge of how this all works. I see Thunderbolt docks out there from $150-$300 and I'm thinking do I really have to spend that in addition to the $1800 I'm going to need for the computer itself?

Thank you in advance for any and all input!

I have never used a USB type A hub.

In theory, it should work because it is still USB. The USB type C to USB type A adapters are basically just plug converters.
