iPhone4 4.x to 5.0.1 update/jailbreak question

My daughter's iPhone 4 is currently on iOS 4.something. Blobs for 5.0.1 are stored with Cydia. Is it possible to upgrade her to 5.0.1 and then perform an untethered jailbreak? We're on Mac platforms.

If so, what would be the basic flow?

1. Get redsn0w. For 5.0.1 I used to use version 0.9.10b5.
2. In the Extras section download the 5.0.1 blobs.
3. In the extras section create a custom signed firmware file.
4. Restore to that firmware file.
5. Jailbreak once restored.
