iPhone 3g stuck in recovery loop.

PLEASE HELP! I can't afford a new phone so I really need to get this fixed. I have an iPhone 3g on 4.2.1 and 6.15.00 base band. It is jail broken and unlocked and for the past couple weeks my phone has been randomly going into recovery mode. Every time I would just do a hard reset and the phone would come out of recovery mode. But now when I try a hard reset it goes to the apple logo screen and then to the connect to iTunes screen. I can't restore my phone because I'm on iPad base band. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anyway to fix it?

If you had a 3GS I would say, go back to 4.1 and exit recovery mode in tinyumbrella. I don't know if that would work on a 3G.

Is the phone plugged in when you hard reset it?

iPhones go in Recovery Mode if you hold down the Home button when they boot up.
