Boot room on 3gs

How do you find the boot room on the 3gs? Im buying one on saturday but i wanna make sure i buy a normal one.....

if you buy a new one it will have the new bootrom. if you want a better chance at buying one with the old bootrom get a refurb. but no guarantees it won't have new innards in the phone which would mean new bootrom.

Look at the last two digits of the serial # 40 & 70 are the new iphone with the newest boot roms

I thought it was 4th and 5th digits in the serial number. They need to be below 40 is the rumor I thought. Of course I could be wrong

I believe this is correct. The first 3 digits are 889 IIRC, it's the 4th and 5th digits that represent the week the phone was put together.

I think I was wrong , I think you guys are right its tough to keep the numbers straight .
