i have a jailbroken 3.0 OS. i'm currently waiting for an easy to way to jailbreak 3.1 before i update. so far, i'm reading alot of EICD, IBCC, and other files and signatures that don't make any sense to me. stuff like "you should get your EICD before upgrading so you can downgrade in case" or something like that. what do all these things mean?

Some of the files you are talking & hearing about are command and settings files. For the MOST part these files are easiest installed to your iPhone via SSH. Basicly SSH is using the COMMAND PROMPT on your PC or MAC. Something like the "OLD DOS" Command.
If you are NOT familiar with using a tool such as this, I suggest you stay FAR away....MOST of your APPS and JB needs will be found on Cydia. These downloads and upgrades are the easiest and most convient way to JB and improve your iPhone. (SOME WILL STAUNCHLY DISAGREE...WITH "IMPROVE". It's a matter of "Personal Choice". I hope this helped...If it did...don't forget to TIP the scales. IGoSlo
