iTunes Backup Files

Say I did a backup in iTunes before I did a new Jailbreak.

I then did a restore to original, and then once I hooked it back up to iTunes, it did another backup, but this time it was of the new restored phone, thus with nothing on it.

Is there a way to get the previous backup file to use as the restore file? Where are the backup files stored on my computer?

In iTunes go to Edit - Preferences. Switch to the Device tab and see what backups are available.The timestamp and device name should provide an answer.

Where are the backup files stored on my computer?

OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Vista/7 C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Cool thanks. i was able to view the different back up files under Preferences - it only showed 4 backup files, but I was able to select the b/u file that I ran before I did my restore and all is good now!

I'll have to see if I can save the b/u file looking on my computer..
