Movies--m4p/mp4? Or only iTunes ones?

I have movies on my current phone in I think m4p or mp4 format. Would those work on my iPhone4?

And how many movies can you get on a 16GB or a 32GB model? I only really need 3 or 4 on there for travelling at a time. Would that be doable with the 16GB?

I put a couple of movies on the 16gb iphone that were in the mpeg4 format and each one took just over 1 gb of space. So you definitely could put 4 movies on there depending on all the other apps and music you already have loaded.
