Starting from scratch

I bought an iPod Touch several months ago and a friend of mine programmed it on his computer. The problem is that I am no longer in touch with this friend and whenever I try to download an update or load a new app, it asks for his password! I have tried deleting all the passwords I can find but nothing seems to work so obviously I am not doing something correctly!

How can I reload my iPod from scratch or start anew using my own passwords, etc.?

Need help as I am really getting frustrated over this.

Hook to iTunes and press restore you will lose any music apps etc but those are associated with his computer so you can not keep them after the restore you can use your own apple id

Cannot connect to iTunes Store

I tried doing what you said but when I plug in my iPod to my PC and I unlock it, it tells me it "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store". It won't let me access Pandora, nothing.

What to do??
