As an owner of both devices I agree FaceID is far more convenient.
There's also a price to pay as you're clearly trading security for said convenience.
Samsung also has a face unlock feature that essentially uses a static image (hence it can be fooled with a picture of your face!) that's easier to use but does not work in total darkness. The iris scanner does not work in sunlight. Outdoors I have to use my fingerprint. If my finger is wet I have to use a password. That's the price we have to pay to have our devices reasonably secure.
