Car mount magnet and wireless charging

So I want to use wireless charging with my new Iphone X and have already picked up an inexpensive Anker charger. I've got my phone in a case that is compatible with wireless charging. However, I noticed last night that charging was very, very slow. I mean, it took the better part of 6 hours to fully charge (I woke up in the middle of the night and checked the phone).

However, I'm actually thinking that the reason is the positioning of a small magnet between the phone and the case so I can stick the phone to my car mount. Has anybody identified the best place to place the magnet? Did you cut the magnet into more of a crescent shape in order to make wireless charging more effective?

You shouldn't be using the magnet if your phone has wireless charging..something with the magnet interferes with the charging and is also not good to leave on the back of the phone with the internals of the wireless charging

The magnet appears to be shaped to avoid interfering with the wireless internal stuff.
