Not only speed but also flexibility, there is no scripting system

Game salad is only for making game and not apps.

You still need to learn coding (Objective C) before starting to make an app but it's not too complicated.

Game salad if u want try to start to dev app in few time but game salad have rules for publish your game on app store! I think is better if you study object - c
