Considering iPhone event is likely in 5 months, I doubt it. If they were going to release it for the X they would have now. They won’t release it 3 months before iPhone event. It had to be now.

True, but it's nice to have dreams. Well, maybe Apple will give the Red treatment to the X successor next Spring, or at intro. They listened to consumers about the black front plate this time, maybe they will listen again about the timing for the next iteration.

I think Apple will keep red as a mid year color refresh. To help boost sales the 2nd half of the phone cycle.

Funny... I wanted the gold one for so long before I took the plunge. Had a perfectly good space grey iphone 8 and finally caved and got the 8+.

I saw Rene's video on the Red 8/8 Plus and he mentioned that they probably didn't make it in the X because it may have been difficult to achieve the right tone of red on the stainless steel. That makes a lot of sense to me.

I have a new 256 GB gold 8 plus still within the 14 day return window at Best Buy. So tempted to swap for the Red. I figure I would only be out $35 restocking fee and my time (which is in short supply). I have to decide in the next couple of days..... so tempted..... convince me?!?

Never tried that to make the phone sleep that way. Use the push thingy on the side of the phone. Or the assitive touch option.
