Yesterday I was having an issue with reconnecting to my home WiFi. Other devices in the house were connected. Looking at the icon at the top banner, I’m wondering what the difference is. Yesterday it was just the WiFi symbol and didn’t say the word “WiFi”. Today it shows both. So what’s the difference between the two?

I don’t think there is a difference other than how the carrier opts to display it, depending on your location, but I’m only guessing.

AT&T WiFi means that AT&T uses your home WiFi connection to place and accept phone calls because the carrier signal is weaker than your home WiFi signal’s. Nothing more.

If you don’t see the WiFi icon, then you are not connected to WiFi at home.

In the screenshot you posted, it’s obvious that you’re connected.

It's called Wifi Calling. WiFi calling means you connect to ATT's cellular voice network over WiFi instead of through a cell tower, because the cell tower signal is weak.
