Is anyone else receiving notifications sounds for 3rd-party news apps?

Since purchasing my iPhone 7, I've noticed three of my news apps no longer play alert sounds. The apps are CNN, AP News and ABC News. Breaking news alerts still come through, but with no tone. Sound is turned on in settings for each of the apps. I've also tried reinstalling the apps, but still no alert sounds. Anyone else having this issue and any idea how to solve it?

I haven’t used a 3rd-party news app in quite some time, but hopefully those who currently uses them will reply soon...

When you reinstalled the apps, did it ask permission to send you notifications?

That has always been an issue with the following two:

Investing.com

Some apps simply don't offer an alert tone. You can toggle them on in settlngs for sound, but nothing.
