In general, the Google suite of Apps seem to work better on pure android devices, both in performance and services. The issue is, Samsung integration is arguably worse than the iOS integration. iOS performs extremely well, so the Google app experience is generally positive, but if you go to a real, pure android device, Google services are unmatched.
I like google maps over Apple maps
I do as well, but Apple Maps has quietly become quite reliable and is a solid number 2 and a valid replacement for Google Maps due to its "default" nature on iOS.
You can check a business on Apple Maps to see if they take Pay. Can't do that on Google Maps.
