    tried suggestions of setting led alert on in accessibility, still no led flash,

    Welcome to iMore! You toggled LED flash on, but it doesn't work? Have you received a call? Is your phone on low power mode?
    Try a hard reset:
    Hold the top or side power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.
