How can I transfer pictures from my iPhone6 to my computer?

On my old (non-iPhone) I used a physical connector between my phone and my computer and transferred the pics. I did not get such a connector with my iPone6 and believe I can use an App instead.
I have Messenger installed. Please let me know step by step what to do.
