Will the iPhone 6 get a new USB cable and charger or will Apple keep on using the Lighting connector?

I'm totally fine with lightning as it's very compact. Look how long 30 pin has been around and it's still hanging on.

I also don't see them changing anytime soon. That being said, I would love to see a switch to micro USB. Yes, I know it's wishful thinking.

I could see Apple possibly improving the lighting connector with something like lightning 2. They might do that to improve the charging speed (the connector would basically be the same). Otherwise, I don't see Apple moving away from the lighting connector for a while.

Hopefully it will follow the same charging method as the watch, and if they want to make it more convenient, make a phone and watch combo available in the stores this fall and make them both capable of charging together.

The only change I can see them doing is adding USB 3.0 support and maybe thunderbolt support but that's it.

Lightning isn't going anywhere for a while. I know people we're having issues with them originally wearing out fast but I think they have rectified that
