Welcome to iMore! Be sure you turn up the volume everywhere.
1. The control on the side of the phone.
2. Swipe up control center and turn it up there.
3. Go to Settings >Sounds > turn it up there.
If it's still not loud enough, try going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing Aids > Hearing Aid Mode > Toggle on Hearing Aid Mode. That has worked on my Wife's 5c. It made a big difference. I tried it on my 5, and it helped some. Haven't checked it on my 6s Plus. It's been on though and my sounds are fine.

Also be sure there's no cellophane covering the speakers.
