iPhone cellular antenna issue?

He complains that he doesn't get cell service anywhere he should (or used to), except sometimes if he is within dicrect sight of and next to a cell tower. He has no issues with wifi connections or functionality. We both use track phone and indeed, I get service where he doesn't. I've got an iPhone 5. His is the 5s. Frame is bent enough so that the glass doesn't seat properly. Does this sound like I should just replace the antenna?

Welcome to iMore! Before you start replacing hardware try resetting network settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.
