New mail notification won't change

Hey all,

I just installed a new ringtone on my phone but it won't play that tone when I select it. It plays it from the sounds list when I choose it but it won't actually use it when new mail comes in. The phone continues to play tritone. I thought it might be a problem with the file ( even though it is a .m4r) so I tried changing to another one of the stock tones and it will not let go of tritone! Any ideas?

It's a known sound bug in 6.1. I often times don't get any sound for my text tones. Irritating as

I know ringtones have to be under 30 seconds long... found one reference that said to keep notification tones to 3 seconds...

There is nothing you can do about it. You're gonna have to wait till they update iOS to 6.1.1. And that's hoping its fixed by then. They still have the stupid lock screen dimming bug since 6.0
