syncing

i spent a lot of time removing duplicates and cleaning up my iphone...if i sync it to my pc, will it go back to the way it was before i did all this when i last backed it up?

how do i circumvent this if that is the case?

i'm fairly new to this, but really need help with this one....any help is appreciated...

It will, yes. Try removing duplicates in iTunes, then sync. On a pc I think it's file then view duplicates.

the duplicates are my contacts, not my songs....

See if there is an option that say "Phone override PC" or something like that. This way it won't merge your data.
