Sync Contacts Issuse

Hey does anyone notice or have a issues with the Verizon iPhone white syncin your contacts with Gmail..It does not give me the option to "turn on"..It just says
Mail
Calendars
Notes

Let me know if there is something i'm over looking or does it just not have that option with Verizon...Thanks in advance for your help...

you have to set it up as an exchange account. google gmail exchange iphone

just did now and it works..only thing that sucks it merge new numbers with old numbers and its all a mess lol...

But a issuse that i do notice still is that i'm adding contacts and it wont sync to my gmail..why is that?
